About The 2016 ThinkFGC Ikom Essay Contest
The FGC Ikom Alumni Association through the office of the Alumni National Publicity Secretary with the help of sponsors in October, 2016 lunched the Maiden Alumni Annual Think FGC Ikom Essay Contest. The contest which has now become a yearly alumni event is aimed at promoting unity and developing old student’s passion to give back to FGC Ikom their alma-mater by “Thinking FGC Ikom”.
For the 2016 Essay Contest, the topic was:
“My Role as an Alumnus/Alumna to my Alma-Mater and Alumni Association”
Entries for this contest was received from fifteen applicants who are old students of the college, fourteen applicants made it to the last round while one applicant was disqualified for irregularities (Plagiarism).
After proper assessment of the entries, the 2016 Alumni Essay Contest Panel of Judges announced, Agabi, Samuel (Green House, 2010 Set) winner of the 2016 Think FGC Ikom Essay Contest, he won the N100, 000 cash prize award, he is also celebrated and his pictures on all alumni platforms. Agabi believes that, “Inspiration, use of examples and personal experiences at FGC Ikom” is instrumental to his “ThinkingFGCIKOM” and nurtures his passion to give back to his alma-mater as well as contribute to his alumni association.
Second Position was won by Enyi Hocaha Francis (Pink House, 2010 Set), he won the N60, 000 cash prize award.
Bassey, Christian Agala (Green House, 2011 Set) won the notable mention N10,000 cash prize award. All essays submitted by applicants can be viewed in the next sub menus on this website.
